Following in the footsteps of the BBC and Fox News, CNN International this morning has launched CNNMobile.com, a mobile news site to-date across 49 countries and territories in Asia Pacific.

The company says this launch now “rounds out CNN’s 360 degree mobile solution offering, integrating live streaming mobile TV, video on demand content, and SMS breaking news alert services”.
Available direct to consumers free of charge, it is custom designed to guarantee user-friendly navigation and interaction ensuring that the network’s award-winning content can be assessed in a matter of seconds.
Ringo Chan, Vice President of Wireless, Interactive Content, Development and Distribution, Turner International Asia Pacific said, “The launch of CNN’s new mobile news service across Asia Pacific underlines our commitment to delivering news to the fingertips of global users across multiple platforms. We now have a full portfolio of mobile solutions for users across the region to experience a seamless connecting experience. Our aim is to make it easy for users to access content anytime and anywhere.”
According to CNN, key elements of the new CNN mobile internet service include a searchable 14-day news archive with over 2000 stories.
In addition, the platform also automatically detects the weather in whatever country the user is registered in, personalising the delivery of 5-day forecasts, details on air travel delays, ski reports and much more.
The enhanced functionality of the site says the media company, “allows users to stay informed of breaking news stories as and when they happen”.
