The on off Russound ownership of Colarado VNet is off again after the struggling company threw in the towel and sold it to former Russound VP of sales and marketing Mike Anderson.Insiders are tipping a name change for the IP automation Company who are keen to resurrect their Australian distribution Network.
SmartHome Distribution took on the Colorado VNet product when it was first launched in the USA and after investing significant amounts of money in the marketing of the brand in Australia, via CEDIA members and trade shows the company was told late in 2009 that it was being sold to Russound who failed to communicate with the Australian distributor.
Now SmartHome Distribution could be asked to again take on the brand which is currently undergoing a strategic review.
Anderson told CE Pro that the plan is to maintain all business operations and “continue as normal with order processing, sales, marketing and technical support from the current Colorado vNet headquarters.”
“As the VP of Sales for Russound and Colorado vNet, I’ve seen how the Colorado vNet brand has its own unique place in the market,” says Anderson. “Colorado vNet integrators have needs unique to themselves and having the opportunity to set this company apart – under its own direction once again – is an opportunity to provide those integrators with the support they deserve.
“We look forward to reestablishing the vNet brand and dealers can be assured that our team is excited and working hard to strengthen our relationships with them and to deliver on all the promise the brand has always held.”
