Canon has launched a new digital camera complete with face detection and red-eye reduction technologies, extending on its current PowerShot range.
The new PowerShot camera (S5 IS) features face detection technology by means of the DiG!C III processor, as well as built-in red-eye correction and AF continuous shooting mode in a compact body. Offering 8.0 megapixel resolution and 12x optical zoom with Canon’s optical image stabiliser, the camera sports a 2.5-inch vari-angle LCD screen.

The camera also features an accessory shoe to allow the use of a Speedlite EX series external flash, to let you satisfy your ultrazoom enthusiasm. The image processor also claims to enable high-speed 1SO 1600 shooting for good results in low light and movie capture is also possible.
