Google could be making its way into the gaming world with its streaming service code named ‘Yeti’, according to new reports.

The Information broke the news saying the company is developing a subscription-based game streaming service that could be accessible via Chromecast or a Google made console.

This means games could be streamed instead of using downloads or disks. The reports say this could be Google “at the forefront of a nascent part of the video game business”.

If Google is successful, it could grab a piece of the $109 billion videogame market, The Information states.

The report points out this move is a representation of Google’s move to be more in the home after its launch of Google Home and Chromecast.

Google has not made a formal statement as of publication.
