Square Enix is releasing the latest iteration of the cyberpunk, cult classic video game series, Deus Ex, in mid-2011 in Australia.The exact date for the prequel, titled Deus Ex: Human Revolution, is set at 25 August, landing on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
The original Deus Ex was released in 2000 and has been praised as one of the top games by many gaming critics, while maintaining a cult following in the gaming community for its integration of multiple narrative paths into gaming genres.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a first person shooter/role playing game and is the third game in the series, acting as a prequel to the original story.
The game is currently up for pre-order in two editions. The standard game comes with an ‘Explosive Mission Pack’ for pre-orders and gives players a little extra content like a new mission and some unique in-game weapons.
The ‘Augmented Edition’ comes with this same content plus a few more in-game items and a bonus DVD with ‘making of’ footage, soundtracks, trailers, art – the usual ‘premium’ goods that come with special edition versions of games for a heftier price tag.
