Apple has fixed a software bug causing its new Apple Watch 4 to frequently crash and reboot, after moving to Daylight Saving Time (DST) early this week.
Initially spotted by 9to5Mac, Aussie Apple Watch 4 owners claim their device was stuck in an endless “reboot loop”, rendering the watch useless until it eventually lost power.
The device’s Infograph Modular face reportedly encountered a bug from the loss of an hour, causing the device to crash and reboot [repeat].
The Apple Watch 4 displays an hour-by-hour graphic based on a users’ day including; exercise minutes, stand hours and move calorie.
Whilst the root cause of the error is yet to be explained, commentators claim the watch’s Activity complication could not re-calibrate its 24 hour graph, with an hour missing.
9to5Mac claims some users removed the Infograph Modular watch face via the Watch iPhone app, as an interim remedy.
With Daylight Saving Time (DST) now in effect in Australia, some users claim the watch has re-calibrated and remedied the issue.
Apple will reportedly also release a software update, preventing the issue for international users who will soon enter DST.
