Denon has announced a new stereo receiver featuring onboard wireless streaming targeted at home theatre customers chasing a two-channel setup rather than surround sound.

The DRA-800H is Denon’s first stereo receiver to include wireless multi-room streaming through the HEOS platform, giving listeners quick access to Spotify, Tidal, and Deezer, among others.

Streaming is also supported through Bluetooth and AirPlay 2, with voice control through Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri and

The receiver pumps out up to 100 watts per channel into 8ohms, with a 32-bit DAC providing playback for MP3, WAV, FLAC, ALAC and DSD files up to 192kHz/24-bit and 5.6MHz.

Unusual for a stereo receiver, the DRA-800H also features five Ultra HD 4K HDMI inputs and one output with ARC, as well as support for most Smart TV remotes.

A phono, two analogue, a coaxial and two optical digital inputs are also included.

The receiver also supports A/B speaker switching to support two pairs of speakers, and a Zone 2 pre-out feature that allows for different sources to play simultaneously in different zones.

The Denon DRA-800H is expected to go on sale in Australia in September, but local pricing is yet to be confirmed.
