A new professional drone capable of shooting photos at up to 100-megapixel resolution will soon be released by DJI and Hasselblad.
In what is being described as a ‘world first’, the DJI M600 Pro drone and the company’s Ronin-MX gimbal stabiliser will be combined with Hasselblad’s medium format H6D-100c camera in an “unprecedented tool for precise, detailed and accurate aerial imaging” according to the two companies.
The drone company reportedly acquired a majority stake of Hasselblad in January, and the new device marks the second time the two companies have collaborated on a product.
“Professional drone users can continuously control camera operations in flight using the DJI GO app, in order to provide rich imagery for landscape and fine-art photography, robust data for surveying and mapmaking, and endless possibilities for future professional endeavors,” DJI said in a press release.
The ‘aerial photography platform’ will be on display at the NAB Show in Las Vegas, before a launch in Q3 2017. Pricing information for the package has not been announced.
