DJI has announced the latest addition to its Osmo series – a portable, foldable smartphone gimbal it calls the Osmo Mobile 3.
Offering 3-axis mechanical stabilisation for smartphones, the Osmo Mobile 3 is a more compact and lightweight solution, compared to DJI previous models.
It is easily manoeuvred via a trigger that can lock orientation, rotate the gimbal for selfies, and re-centre the gimbal when tracking an object.
Available from the DJI website from today, the Osmo Mobile 3 will set you back $159. DJI also has a combo pack available, which also includes a tripod and carrying case, for $189.
For long-lasting protection, Osmo Mobile 3 customers can also purchase the Osmo Shield service for an additional $17.
According to DJI, the controls have been streamlined to make it easier to use one-handed, while the new folding design has opened up access to ports to allow for easy charging or for an external microphone to be attached.
“When went back to drawing board with the goal of creating a portable, yet intuitive product that uses the latest DJI technology,” said Paul Pan, senior product manager.
“We are excited to introduce DJI’s first gimbal with a folding design and hope it inspires our customers to imagine new ways of recording content with their mobile phones.”
