Domino Pizza who do not deliver the best Pizza’s in Australia and are not saying what their on-time delivery record is, has announced a new GPS tracking system so that they can check how long it takes their staff to deliver a Pizza.
Domino’s Pizza’s claim to have a world first technology that lets consumers know where their Pizza is after an order has been placed. The Company will also track the speed drivers are driving at while making a delivery.
The theory is that consumers who are fed up of waiting for their Domino Pizza to be delivered can now take their frustration out on their smartphone or tablet.
Domino’s Pizza Enterprises the Company behind the initiative is the same Company that was force to correct advertising claims by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission when they said that they were Australian’s Most Popular Pizza operator.
Dominoes were also taken to task when they claimed that all its dough used for its pizza bases was made fresh daily in its local stores.
At the time the ACCC raised concerns with Domino’s about the accuracy of this claim after it became aware that not all Domino’s dough was made fresh daily in its stores.
The new GPS Driver Tracker is only available in the ACT currently.
The service will be available throughout Australia and New Zealand by the end of July.
Brisbane-based Domino’s says it was inspired by Uber Technologies Inc.’s ride-sharing app. The U.S. Company, which recently poached the head of Google’s same-day-delivery business, is currently exploring similarly using its fleet of drivers to ferry goods, including fresh food, and services such as flu shots.
A big advantage for Domino is that they can monitor their drivers’ performance electronically.
Dominoes who was initially called Silvio’s Dial-A-Pizza, claim they trying to forge a reputation as one of Australia’s most tech-savvy food outlet, there was no mention as to whether the quality of their food will be improved.
