Cloud storage operator Dropbox – currently under pressure as Google and Microsoft offer increasingly competitive products – has inked deals with Hewlett-Packard and Acer which can bring the Dropbox desktop client directly to their hardware.
Dropbox has already been preloaded onto some of the newest H-P and Acer tablets, and the next stop will be PCs, scheduled to follow in early 2015.
Earlier this month, Dropbox also launched promotions on “select” H-P and Acer devices, promising anywhere between eight and 23 extra free gigabytes of storage space on top of the initial two free gigabytes.
