Vacuum cleaner specialist, Dyson, has expanded its haircare portfolio, launching its new Airwrap styler in Australia for “voluminous curls” and “smooth blow-drys” without extreme heat.
The Airwrap styler will retail for A$699, and claims to “curl, wave, smooth and dry” damp hair.
Simultaneously styling and drying hair, the Airwrap harnesses Dyson’s V9 motor – spinning at up to 110,000rpm, generating 3.2kPa of pressure.
The technology pledges to deliver the ‘Coanda effect’, mimicking a professional hair stylist’s blow-dry technique.
The Airwrap styler accompanies a series of attachments (e.g. ‘firm smoothing brush’, ’40mm Airwrap barrel’ and ’round volumising brush’), whist functioning as a pre-styling hair dryer for wet to damp hair.
Attachments come in a handy storage case, with the device weighing 590 grams.
Dyson Australia is giving consumers the opportunity to experience the Airwrap first-hand, by offering wash and dry packages at its first Aussie pop-up store in Sydney CBD from October 10 – 14.

The Airwrap styler follows Dyson’s widely popular Supersonic hair dryer, which helped the company generate a record $6.5 billion in revenue last year.
