Dyson has unveiled the latest model of the Airblade V hand dryer, making it quieter and cheaper to run using the latest technology and research.
The new hand dryer is 35% quieter than the previous model due to adjustments made to the air slots and motor, which also led to a 28% reduction in running costs. The Airblade costs up to 68% less to run than some other hand dryers, and up to 98% less than using paper towels.
This sets the Dyson Airblade apart from typical hand dryers, which may use small motors to reduce noise but compromise hygiene by leaving hands wet, increasing the risk of bacteria spreading by 1000 times. Other ‘fast’ hand dryers may use a powerful motor, increasing both noise and running costs.
“I challenged our engineers to develop a hand dryer suited to sound sensitive spaces. But it was crucial not to compromise the performance that makes Dyson Airblade hand dryers fast to dry hands hygienically,” said James Dyson, the founder of Dyson.
While the new model significantly reduces noise and running costs, it doesn’t compromise on hygiene. HEPA filters in the Airblade capture 99.9% of particles, so hands are dried with cleaner air in only 12 seconds. CO2 emissions are also reduced from 3.5g to 2.4g compared to the previous model, making it more environmentally friendly as well.
Dyson Airblade hand dryers have been installed in 54 countries around the world. The company estimates 120 million pairs of hands are dried using Airblade technology each day.
The Dyson Airblade V is available from dyson.com.au and selected distributors for RRP $1,390.
