Stealth Acoustics’ new three-way invisible speaker system utilises a rigid frame that fits into a standard 3.5-inch deep stud wall and attaches directly to standard structural framing.

The paintable active diaphragm radiating surface is a structurally modified three-layer composite consisting of two layers of graphics-grade paper with a modified foam core, suitable for receiving most standard wall or ceiling finishes including latex paint, light texture or wallpaper.
“The AX3 is a true three-way speaker system” said Steve Olszewski, vice president of Stealth Acoustics. “The fact that it integrates seamlessly as part of the finished wall or ceiling adds aesthetic benefit, but listen to the speaker; there’s very little compromise for being invisible compared to other conventional speakers in its price range. We have complete EASE and CLF test data to support the use of performance predication software in higher-end designs.”
The AX3’s solid mid-range punch is created by attaching dual mid-frequency drivers to special fibre composite material and arraying them in a manner Stealth brands as “Dual Midrange Drive”. This technology, coupled with the AX3’s dedicated high-frequency driver and 8-inch cone woofer, creates an invisible speaker solution that extends from as low as 45Hz to 20kHz. Accessory, constant voltage transformers are also available.
Stealth has also released the STX8 dual-channel invisible speaker for home or commercial background and foreground music applications. It is a full-range stereo speaker system utilising a flat-front panel that fits into a standard 3.5-inch deep stud wall and attaches directly to standard structural framing without the need for mounting brackets.
The paintable active diaphragm radiating speaker surface is energised by two discreet neodymium high-frequency motors coupled to carbon fibre plates and by a dual voice coil woofer. Its flat-front panel face mates with half-inch or 5/8-inch wallboard and is suitable for receiving most standard wall or ceiling finishes including latex paint, light texture or wallpaper, becoming invisible after finishing.
There are two fully isolated audio channels and utilises individual heavy-duty crossovers and protection circuits for each channel. The high-power dual voice coil 8-inch woofer delivers low-frequency response down to 45Hz, when properly loaded into a standard stud wall and high-frequency extension to 20kHz.
Finally, Stealth has also made available the 255R rack-mountable, mono; subwoofer power amplifier, which provides professional quality and reliability for custom installers and home theatre enthusiasts.
It incorporates all of the features found in a conventional powered subwoofer and puts them in a package that can be installed in a standard 19-inch equipment rack, or stacked with other non-rack mounted stereo equipment. With a full complement of input and output options it will adapt to any installation interface requirement. The 255R has been developed to power the Stealth Acoustics B1630 invisible in-wall subwoofer panels, but can be used to power any 250-Watt subwoofer system.
