International PR Company Edelman, who is supposed to be the new PR Company for Sonos, claim that they know nothing about today’s announcement that the company has upgraded their software to deliver backward compatible Apple Air Play, but they do claim that Sonos will launch an Android App tomorrow in OZ. WOW!The Melbourne office of Edelman said that the Android release will go out tomorrow.
The only problem is that most technology journalists already know about the Android application, which the company confirmed was in production back in January 2011.
The new Sonos Controller app lets owners control any of the Sonos network audio streamers in their home using an Android based phone or tablet.
Compatible with all Android based Smartphones and Honeycomb tablets including the new 10.1″ Samsung Galaxy and Motorola Xoom tablets the Android app is a free download from the Android Market. (Download here now).

The new Sonos Android application which Smarthouse has running on a new HTC Gingerbread phone is identical to the Sonos iPhone/iPad application. A Windows Phone 7 version of the application is in production.
The Account Manager in charge of the Sonos account at Edelman, said that she was not aware that most tech publications in the world were running the Sonos Air Play story.
