The top Twitter hashtags in 2011 were #egypt, referring to the mass uprising in the country earlier this year, followed by #tigerblood, the tag name Charlie Sheen gave to himself during his very public meltdown.
#threewordstoliveby and #idontunderstandwhy came out as the No.3 and No.4 top hashtags on Twitter.
Tech wise, the Mac App Store, Sony NGP and Guitar Hero all made the top 10 topics list, while surprisingly the iPad (No. 6) and iPhone trailed at No. 7, unlike Google’s top searches for 2011, revealed yesterday, which showed the iPhone 5 as one of the most popular topics in Oz.

On the TV front, shows like Pretty Little Liars, Two and a Half Men and The Craigslist Killer all keep us all tweeting like mad, while movie wise, Thor, The Dark Knight Rises and X-Men: First Class dominated the Twittersphere.
