The most notable Foxconn suicide came in July last year when 25-year-old Sun Danyong jumped from his high-rise apartment after being interrogated over a missing iPhone prototype.
The Company that employs hundreds of young workers is known to be tough on their employees who are forced to work long hours making Apple products.
Earlier this week another 24-year-old Foxconn factory worker killed herself by jumping from her rented apartment in the southern city of Shenzhen. Foxconn said in a statement that the worker began her employment in August.
“We regret to see the recurrence of such incidents,” Foxconn said.
Foxconn has attracted wide attention from the Chinese media following a spate of suicides among young Chinese working at its mammoth Shenzhen factory complex.
A week ago, a 24-year-old male factory worker committed suicide by jumping from a building inside the complex, where more than 200,000 are employed.
Foxconn spokesman Arthur Huang said in an e-mail to the Associated Press the company isdedicated to carrying out social responsibility programs to ensure the welfare of its employees.
