E.T the Extra Terrestrial tries to call home using a Samsung Galaxy S3? it sounds impossible as the movie was made years ago.
Now, due to a remastering job, another Steven Spielberg classic, E.T. – The Extra Terrestrial is making its way to Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD with an ending on the HD DVD version that includes ET trying to call home using a Samsung Galaxy S3 a phone that is due to be launched in Australia this week.
What is interesting is that Spielberg went with a Korean Company over Apple a US Company for his phone sign off.
The Blu ray movie is being mastered in its original 1.85:1 aspect ratio, and will contain a newly mastered 7.1 channel DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack. The package will include both a Blu-ray and HD DVD version of the film, as well as access to an Ultraviolet Digital Copy.
The best scene has got to be ET trying to phone home by stabbing his glowing finger on to the touchscreen of a Galaxy S3.
Spielberg has also reinstated all the bits of E.T. that were missing from the DVD version of the movie. This includes the change he made to the police holding guns, which were replaced by walkie talkies a few years back when the the moral police stepped in.
The new movie will go on sale in Australia in time for Xmas.
