Australian online IT retailer, eStore.com.au is looking to expand its reach in 2011 by buying out local e-tailers.”Financially, eStore.com.au is in a very strong position and we’re currently on the lookout for potential companies selling technology products online that we can add to the eStore.com.au portfolio,” said Lorenzo Coppa, Chief Executive Officer of eStore.com.au.
The move follows economic pressure on retailers as online becomes the cheaper option for Australian consumers with a high dollar value compared to slowing overseas economies.
The e-tailer rebranded from City Software to eStore last month and is looking to expand in the online sector under a new face. The company acquired eStore.com.au in 2003 and has since operated under both titles.
The rising dollar makes online shopping favour the consumer, while domestic sellers feel the pinch of price deflation when selling to consumers locally.
