Aldi is set to use their Australian stores to trial a world first, based around being able to sell a large bulky product without ranging the actual product in store.
The trial will be based around a top end French Door refrigerator that sells for just $999 and if successful Aldi is set to sell other large products wrapped around the new concept and free home delivery.
The product will be available to purchase in store from August 7.
The unique concept is set to take on the top end of the appliance market with the first product being a 473 litre French Door Fridge that will sell for sub $1,000.
The new Stirling fridge comes with Smart LED lighting, adjustable glass shelves, a humidity and temperature control system that allows you to save electricity when away on holidays.
To put this product into prospective similar products are selling for up to $2,499.
A LG French Door Fridge is retailing for $1,899, a Fisher & Paykel 519L model is retailing for $2,499, a 514L Hair model for $1,588 and a Westinghouse model for $1,588.
Instead of ranging the product in stores Aldi is setting up point of sale material and offering to deliver the new refrigerator free of charge.
Customers who want to take advantage of the big saving on this appliance simply take a cardboard cut-out of the fridge to the counter pay for it and the product is delivered direct to your home.
