Facebook has offered the hacker behind the PlayStation console a position at the social networking site.
Working under the Alias of GeoHot, the hacker has been celebrated by the underbelly of software pirates.
The resume of George Hotz reads like the crime sheet of a white collar thug. Fresh from legal proceedings with Sony, Hotz has been credited with coding that enabled people to play pirated games on the PlayStation console which he published online. Sony have asked the Federal court to disallow the publication of Hotz’s coding and that he hands his computers over to Sony.
This stint is not the first time Hotz has agitated a Transnational manufacturer as he is also credited with unlocking the first AT&T iPhone, and then jail breaking many versions of its software.
It appears the now 21 year old professional hacker has turned legitimate, taking a job at leading social networking site Facebook. Facebook has not disclosed the details of his employment but it’s expected that Hotz will fit in comfortably, with Mark Zuckerberg’s (CEO) roots stemming from mischievous activity.
