Football fanatics all over the world can once again compete for the crown and win a cash prize of $20,000 US dollars as FIFA, EA, and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe launches the new season of the FIFA Interactive World Cup.
Registration opens today at www.fifa.com/fiwc and kicks off in early October 2007. Players can either compete at one of more than 20 physical FIWC 08 Qualifier Events across the globe, or online via the PlayStation Network in over 25 countries. Finalists will then compete to be crowned FIFA Interactive World Player 2008 and win a cash prize of USD $20,000.

According to EA, the FIFA 08 for the PlayStation 3 will create a football experience that matches the complexity, finesse and beauty of the real-world game. In addition, FIFA 08 features a next-generation ball-striking engine that re-creates the drama and unpredictable nature of shooting, the award-winning Interactive Leagues online gameplay and the inclusion of 620 licensed teams, 30 leagues, and more than 15,000 players.
