BenQ says that the DVM1 is equipped with Touch AutoFocus Lock, a 3-inch swivel screen for shooting self-portraits, dual display, and a three second ‘Auto Pre-Record’ function that will continuously record and store three seconds of footage before the actual record button is pressed.
Additional features include a Wind Cut option to reduce wind noise, HDMI, Electronic Image Stabilizer, Fade In/Out effects, image gridlines, six lighting modes, and 5x optical zoom.
BenQ Australia’s General Manager, Chee F. Chung said, “With BenQ’s proven expertise in display innovation – in TVs, monitors, digital cameras, and projectors – our entry into the camcorder market is a very natural development. his new product line will be yet another manifestation of our commitment to bringing enjoyment and quality to life through outstanding digital devices.”
The Touch AutoFocus Lock is designed to prevent the camera from continuing to autofocus while recording. This function is ideal for action shots or scenes where lighting conditions might change during the recorded moment. The Dual Display enables preview and playback of clips to be shown on both the camcorder screen and on the TV (when connected).
Users can engage Fade In/Out (available in black or white fade) prior to recording, while the Electronic Image Stabilizer (EIS) function helps reduce camera shaking.
The Camcorder DVM1 is available this month for $399.00.
