KEF has revealed its new Uni-Q technology that delivers five channels of sound via two speakers. The new system which is already on sale in Australia is impressive according to those that have seen it.
KEF claims that more than 45 years of HiFi knowledge has gone into the development of the speakers. The result is a space-saving new pair of speakers which, as a front pair, will become a 5.1 surround sound home cinema system, avoiding the clutter of six speakers, and all the problems with cables and connectors. The customer can choose from a seven driver stand/wall-mount (Model 7) or an eleven driver floor-stander (Model 11). Both models have the looks and finish demanded by the modern consumer and will grace any home.

The KEF fivetwo concept is simple. The vertical flat panels behind the main speaker drivers act as rear effects speakers, while the front facing Uni-Q drivers create perfect left, centre, and right speakers ideal for home cinema applications. The effect is certainly impressive, with pin-sharp dialogue and extraordinary surround effects. KEF’s fivetwo Uni-Q technology disperses sound around the room so well that the user can sit anywhere to enjoy the optimum surround experience.
The new speakers are vailable in a choice of either matt silver or high gloss black finishes and are supplied with connection cables for any 5.1 home cinema receiver/amplifier. KEF new fivetwo series are available via Audioworks.
