Samsung has introduced its UD970 ultra-HD PLS monitor, designed for creative professionals, into the Australian market.Samsung states the 31.5″ UD970 delivers “optimal levels of colour accuracy, picture quality and clarity demanded by even the most discerning creative professionals”, aiding the content creation process.
Designed to enable smooth, precise colour gradation, as well as clear colour in grayscale and white balance, Samsung states the UD970 maintains smoother gradation, adjusting the colour without reduction to maximise the monitor’s capabilities.
As an LED monitor in which 99.5 per cent of the Adobe RGB gamut is enabled, the UD970 allows “extremely accurate colour representation to provide decreased output errors and minimised colour disparity when printing”.
Combined with ultra-HD picture quality, a 16-bit look-up table for more detailed tonal transitions, and true 10-bit colour depth, representing one billion colours, Samsung states the monitor presents the “ultimate in picture quality”, with the UD970 also equipped with eight different preset colour modes.
Dual colour mode provides for two different single-colour modes to be displayed on one screen, allowing colour comparison of two images simultaneously, while the quad picture-by-picture function supports up to four full-HD windows on one screen simultaneously.
The dual windows picture-by-picture function enables the monitor to be connected to two PCs and have two individual native resolutions showing, and a separate picture-in-picture 2.0 function displays a separate picture-in-picture content feed on screen.
The UD970 has a wide-viewing angle of 178 degrees, can tilt, swivel and angle both horizontally and vertically, and comes equipped with two DisplayPort 1.2 ports, an HDMI 1.4 port, a mini DisplayPort-to-DisplayPort gender port, two USB 3.0 ports and two supercharging USB 3.0 ports.

Available for purchase at all approved Samsung stockists, the UD970 carries a price tag of $2,499 RRP.
