Its started. The rumor mill about the next iPhone has kicked off.
But its not iPhone 6 – its 5S, apparently.
Photos have leaked online suggesting an iPhone 5S is in production.
The pics first leaked on French site Nowhereelse.fr, show an iPhone model identical to “5” but some minor internal tweaks including screws placed in a different pattern.
However, Apple Insider appears to have a rational explanation saying “it’s possible the component could be from an earlier prototype design for Apple’s latest handset.”
It would be surprising if Apple released a newbie iPhone so soon after iPhone 5, which is on sale only since late September.
Apple released iPhone 4 in June 2010 and released iPhone 4S the following September – more than a year later – although admittedly back then it hadn’t competitors like Samsung, Nokia snapping at its heels nearly as hard.
And Cupertino can barely keep up with demand for iPhone 5 – not to mind make a newer model, and generally works on long production cycles.
