Its here: Facebook are now flogging discounts…on just about everything.
Facebook offers have landed in Oz, meaning Aussies can nab discounts from any business with a page on the social network – which includes big names like JB Hi-Fi, Myer to Woollies to small time stores.
“Now, you can get discounts from businesses when they post an offer on their Facebook Page. To claim an offer, all you need to do is click Get Offer from the story anywhere you see it on Facebook,” a company notice said today.
But it looks like the Offers may be a nuisance as they will start appearing in users newsfeed, if they have clicked “like” on a company page.
But it seems Facebookers can hide a particular offer or posts from a specific company Page from their news feed, but there isn’t a setting that allows you to hide all offers, according to the fineprint.

The Facebook Offers service will work something like Groupon and Co (but lets hope more reliable than their shoddy service) – but allows you to simply flash the coupon at store from your smartphone to redeem the deal:
“After you click Get Offer, Facebook will send you an email that you can print off or show on your mobile phone at the business to redeem your discount,” according to Facebook’s web page.
The social Network’s offers have been available in the US since early this year.
