iPhone fanatics had better hold out a little longer. 5 won’t be here anytime soon.
Suppliers insist handset won’t hit shops until late this year, at the earliest, Business Insider reports.
So the bad news for those eagerly awaiting the device, which was tipped for June- it won’t be ready until at least Christmas and could stretch out until early 2012, according to analysts.
The report from analysts at Avian Securities cites sources including key component suppliers, who claim production for the 5th iPhone will only commence in September, meaning the anticipated June release is out the window.
A metal backed cover, larger screen and white colour are among the other rumours circulating in the industry for the next Apple iPhone installation.
According to Avian Securities, “conversations with yet another key component supplier indicates that production for iPhone-5 will begin in September. This is consistent with Avian findings in the supply chain in recent months.”
However, it’s not all bad.
It looks like a lower priced and spec iPhone device is winging its way to consumers, although its anyone’s guess as to when, with the tech house giving nothing away on timing.
However, Avian believe it is more likely a 2012 event.
