Taiwanese consumer electronics manufacturer maker Foxconn is looking to take on the market for servers and storage that help back up pictures on Facebook and data on other Internet-based applications.
The company, also known as Hon Hai, is the world’s largest contract manufacturer of consumer electronics and is the major assembler of Apple products.
It has been diversifying as revenue from key consumer-brand clients slows, and has already won orders to make servers and storage for Facebook and Hewlett-Packard.
