Foxtel Play content is delivered via broadband, screening 45 live channels including Fox Sports 1, 2 and 3, Foxtel Movie channels, Showcase as well as FOX8.
It will be live on PS4 before the end of this quarter, Smarthouse has been told. Foxtel has yet to make any announcement on availability on PS4’s rival, Xbox One, although is already on Xbox 360, PC, Mac, LG and Samsung Smart TVs.
Watching Pay TV on PlayStation starts at $25 a month, and you can subscribe by the month and pay as they go. The move is part of News Corp. and Telstra-owned Pay TV giant’s bid for viewers as TV subscription growth go cold.
Foxtel are trying to plug its exclusive screening of Game of Thrones season four which starts Monday, April 7 at 3.30pm. Play customers also have access to Foxtel Go as part of their subscription, and can add Premium Movies and Drama to their first $25 pack for $10 extra, to access shows like Game of Thrones, Mad Men, House of Cards and True Blood.
The ‘special’ pricing is only available to those who sign up to between 1 – 30 April.
