Free AVCHD Transcoder Software From Panasonic

Panasonic has announced that its latest AVCHD Transcoder software is now available as a free download.

The MainConcept AVCHD Transcoder v2.1 software incorporates all the functions of the previous version – ability to transcode AVCHD to Panasonic’s DVCPRO (HD) codec – to allow the user to edit new codecs together with existing codecs (including archival footage) using existing hardware.
 
Panasonic has also added AVCHD transcode to AVI DV codec functionality, to offer users greater flexibility for the migration to High Definition.
