Foxtel today re-launches its Gamesworld service with a new look and three new content genres on channel 555, giving subscribers access to interactive games using their Foxtel remote.
New games offerings include Kids Family, Brainteaser Trivia and Casino Sport.
The Kids Family channel will include ‘trusted’ subscription TV brands such as The Cartoon Network’s Ben 10 and Boomerang’s Scooby Doo.
Brainteaser Trivia allows subscribers to challenge themselves with a selection of mind bending games, from daily trivia to challenging number and word games.
Casino Sport will offer a range of play for fun games, where subscribers can test their skills at games including football, bowling, golf, cards and poker.
“Part of the Foxtel offering is providing services above and beyond core television programs. Our interactive services, such as games, complement our TV offerings and have enjoyed strong support in the past,” said Foxtel executive director of content, product development and delivery, Patrick Delany.
“Today we launch our new updated Gamesworld service, which provides subscribers with an engaging, trusted and safe way to get even more enjoyment from their Foxtel subscription.”
The service costs $6.95 per month, allowing subscribers unlimited access to games in either the Kids Family or Brainteaser Trivia genre, or they can choose to have access to both categories for $13.90 per month.
Otherwise, subscribers can ‘single play’ any of the games for a fee of $1.
A promotion called ‘Free Games Weekend’ is running alongside the launch of the service, with subscribers urged to play games for free on Saturday 15 December and Sunday 16 December.
