This race to the bottom sales strategy for Harvey comes as it pushes computer stock out the door, this weekend.
Laptops included in the sale blitz are 15.8″ HP Pavilion DV6 $1598 (2.5GHz, 1GB graphics), the $899 15.6″ Acer Aspire AS5552 multimedia machine, Toshiba Satellite L750D priced at $1698 and basically any model with an AMD processor inside.
Yesterday, Harvey’s red shirted staff were also seen to be handing out fliers outside at least one Sydney train station in a bid to lure consumers into its bricks and mortar franchise, located nearby.
Asus A53TA for $1098 and Samsung laptops although no particular models are specified online, are also included in the free notebook deal.
But its not just Gerry Harvey that is flogging ‘2 for 1’ – JB Hi Fi are selling two $20 iTunes gift cards for $30 – not quite 2 for 1 but close, and Asus 10.1″ Android tab, the 16GB Eee Pad Transformer for a mouth watering $471 (nVidia Tegra 2 1.0ghz Dual Core CPU, dual camera, 1GB RAM) – more than $50 cheaper than other online rivals.
And while we’re on the subject of laptops, JB’s is selling a 15″ HP Pavilion for $579 with AMD dual-core A4 2.5Ghz CPU although less spec’ed up than the model Harvey is selling, is still a pretty decent price.
Another PC bargain we spied is Acer All-In-One Desktop for $899 and a 40″ Samsung LED HDTV for $799 (HDMI, USB, 1080p) from online retailer OO.
