Japanese multinational photography and imaging company, FUJIFILM, has announced a new versatile mirrorless camera — the X-T30 — plus a new addition to its XP series — the XP140 — and a new FUJINON XF16mmF2.8 R WR lens.
The X-T30 features a 4th Generation image sensor and processor with 26.1MP resolution and fast high-performance autofocus (AF) which performs well in low light and when tracking fast-moving subjects.
Its rear LCD monitor is 1.3mm thinner than the FUJIFILM X-T20 and boasts an improved touchscreen response than its predecessor.
The X-T30 also offers a Focus Lever for shifting a focus point easily and a compact lightweight 383g body for added stability when shooting.
Fujifilm promises a more advanced AF-tracking performance for still photographs and video filming alike, including improved face/eye detection, and the new Face Select function.
The Advanced SR Auto mode has been improved, the camera automatically chooses the optimum shooting settings for a given scene from 58 presets.
It records in 6K (6240×3510) to produce 4K (3810×2160) video with high-resolution audio without the need for additional equipment and supports the DCI format (17:9).
In addition to the S-T30, Fujifilm is expanding its XP series with the new XP140.
The XP140 features a 16.4MP back-illuminated CMOS sensor, a maximum sensitivity of ISO12800, Improved Scene Recognition Auto mode and eye detection, IP68 dust and water-proof rating (depths up to 25m), shockproof up to 1.8m, and can withstand temperatures as low as -10°C.
The XP140 boasts FUJINON’s 5x optical image stabilised zoom lens starting from 28mm which can be doubled to 10x using Fujifilm’s Intelligent Digital Zoom Technology.
It also features Bluetooth pairing and wireless LAN connectivity for automatic photo transfer with smartphones, tablets, and Instax printing via the FUJIFILM Camera Remote app.
Fujifilm is also announcing the new FUJINON XF16mmF2.8 R WR lens with a focal length equivalent of 24mm (in the 35mm format) and has a maximum aperture of F2.8.
The XP140 will be available from camera retailers starting from March for $299 RRP in white, dark silver, yellow, sky blue and lime.
The XF16mmF2.8 R WR in black will be available end of March with an RRP of $749. The silver version will launch in May.
