Fujifilm has exposed the Fujinon GF100-200mm F5.6 R LM OIS WR, its new 100-200mm telephoto zoom lens for its GFX Medium Format range. Available mid-February for RRP $3,199.
The telephoto zoom lens is Fujifilm’s first 35mm with an effective focal length range of 79-158mm.
The versatile lens includes built-in optical image stabilisation and weather and dust resistance as well as being able to operate in temperatures as low as 10°C, allowing users to shoot with stability in challenging outdoor environments, ideal for nature or landscape photographers but undoubtedly ideal for fashion photographers.
The image stabilised lens is made up of 20 lenses in 13 groups, including two super ED lens and one aspherical lens which reduces chromatic aberrations and field curvature aberrations to maximize image quality.
The lens is designed to partner with Fujifilm’s 1.4x teleconverter, GF1.4X TC WR, which extends the telephoto shooting range to 111-221mm in a 35mm format without image quality deterioration.
The new lens is compatible with the GFX 50S and the more recent GFX 50R, and will also work with the 100-megapixel GFX 100S, which is slated to launch later this year.
“With the new FUJINON GF100-200 we’re once again demonstrating that with FUJIFILM photographers can enjoy the highest quality images in a medium format body”, said Alex Zitser, National Product and Marketing Manager.
“The early feedback we’ve received from beta tests within the photography community has been overwhelmingly positive and we’re excited to bring this lens to Australian shores.”
The lens has an RRP $3,199 and will be available from mid-February 2019 from most Australian photography retailers.
