Fujifilm has launched a new digital camera that is compact and lightweight enough to appeal to families, rather than the enthusiast or professional photographer. The company describes it as SLR-styled.
Featuring a Fujinon 10x optical zoom lens (38-380mm equivalent), ISO 1600 sensitivity, the new FinePix (S5700) camera also comes with a picture stabilisation mode to reduce handshake blur.
With a 2.5-inch LCD, the camera can also capture movies at 30 frames per second with sound and contains 27MB of internal memory – which is expandable using xD or SD media cards.
“The FinePix S5700 can also be operated easily with one hand, thanks to its ergonomic design, convenient menu system, button layout, rocker zoom and mode dial,” said Fujifilm’s Matt Dole.
“In Dual Shot mode, the FinePix S5700 will capture two photos in quick succession – one with flash and one without – and will save both in order to select the best image.
“There are 14 pre-programmed scene modes activated with a one-touch setting including – Natural Light, Natural Light & Flash, Portrait, Landscape, Sport, Night, Fireworks, Sunset, Snow, Beach, Museum, Party, Flower and Text,” he added.
Accessories include 4 x AA-size alkaline batteries; shoulder strap; lens cap; lens cap cord; USB cable; A/V cable; CD-Rom with FinePix Viewer and Owners Manual.
