Speculation is rife that Sony will showcase its first full working version of the PlayStation 3 (PS3) at the upcoming Taipei Game Show in Taiwan (February 16).
Sony has already shown the PS3 in the US and Japan. In each instance, however, the boxes on display are believed to have been dummy cases, not fully operational prototypes. Where the console has been seen to be doing something, it’s just been pumping out rolling graphics demos.
The Taipei showing is a move by Sony against Microsoft, which will begin marketing its Xbox 360 in Taiwan from March 16. Microsoft has recently announced a lower on sale price for Xbox 360 in Taiwan and added another three launch titles to its list.
