If new rumours are to be believed, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 will not just be getting an upgrade in camera technology, but it will also be getting a huge bump in charging technology.
According to WinFuture’s Roland Quandt, Samsung has an upcoming wireless charging accessory that supports 20W output.
At 20W, the new wireless charger is potentially faster than Samsung’s current bundled 15W adaptive fast charger for the Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S10.
The new wireless coil will supposedly come with the EP-N5200 model number as detailed previously in the FCC listing.
Quandt stated that while the FCC specifications reveal a wireless charger topping out at 15W, the accessory he is specifically talking about will take the power draw rating higher.
Currently, Samsung’s flagship smartphones support Fast Wireless Charging 2.0, which pushes a maximum output of 12W.
Recent movements have seen Samsung step thing up in the wireless charging space, with announcements that both the Galaxy A70 and A80 will be coming with a significantly faster 25W USB-PD charger.
Also, during the MWC event in Shanghai last month, Samsung had put up details about the wireless charger at its booth and even showcased the 20W wireless charger.
The company said that the same 20W technology could be used to charge other products such as the Galaxy Buds case from the phone.
Samsung also showcased a 45W PD solution during MWC, which aligns with previous rumours of the new Note line supporting faster wired charging speeds.
The Galaxy Note 10 is expected to launch in August.
