Samsung’s new Galaxy S6 edge has scooped the GSMA’s award for “Best New Handset, Tablet or Device” at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona.The S6 edge, along with the S6, is set to hit global markets in April, with the award, recognising the best new device launched at MWC, further welcome recognition for Samsung in the build-up to release.
With the S6 edge Samsung has sought to “create a new standard for design, craftsmanship and performance”.
Sporting a metal and glass design, the S6 edge features a 5.1” quad-HD (2560 x 1440) Super AMOLED display, with a curved display on both sides, and under the hood is powered by a quad 2.1 GHz + quad 1.5 GHz octa-core application processor, equipped with 3 GB LPDDR4 RAM and internal storage of either 32, 64 or 128 GB.
Running Android 5.0 (Lollipop), it is decked out with a 16 MP OIS rear camera and 5 MP front camera.
