The J1 and V1 make use of Nikon’s Advanced Camera Interchangeable Lens system (A-CIL) with the range consisting of the J1 and V1. Nikon believe the V1 is the world’s fastest autofocusing speed (a claim previously touted by Olympus) while they believe the J1 is “the world’s smallest camera among competing interchangeable lens digital cameras equipped with image sensors larger than one inch”.
The J1 has been priced at RRP$899 with a Twin Zoom kit setting back $1,099, while the V1 will be available for $1,399 as a Twin Zoom Kit.
When in stores on October 20, the camera will be available in black and white, but pink, red and silver colours are expected for the V1 come 2012.
