This game revolves around John Marston, an ex-outlaw given the mission to hunt down his former ‘brothers’ who live in rural America. As soon as Marston steps down from the train, you will immediately find that Rockstar Games has created another epic game.
The map is huge and is filled with a lot of surprises. Getting from one place to another takes some time, although Rockstar made sure that you have plenty to see while travelling. Along the way, you may encounter strangers who may need your help. Depending on your mood, you can choose to ignore or help them. Other things you can do to kill time in the wild west includes playing poker, hunting wild animals, picking plants, capturing or killing wanted people, taming wild horses, and hunting for hidden treasures.
The game can be finished in about 20 hours if you stick to the main story. Rockstar is known for its story telling, and Red Dead Redemption is clearly one of them. From Miss MacFarlane to Irish, users will love the cast, the dialogue, and what it brings to the game.
In terms of gameplay, Red Dead has a lot to offer – from using a lasso to capture wanted criminals alive, to using the ‘Dead Eye’ system when you are overwhelmed – each and every single function will be used to get things done.

The enemies on this game were aggressive and cleverly used the covers to protect themselves. However, we still found several instances where enemies just stood there, oblivious to what’s going on. AI-controlled allies were an asset more than a liability, which is good as it allowed us to concentrate more on the battle than babysit.
If you have completed the single player game, then it is time to hone your skills on multiplayer. There are a lot of modes on offer including a Free Roam mode where you can go exploring with your friends, Shootout – which is a deathmatch, Hold Your Own – similar to capture the flag, and much more.
In addition, Rockstar Games announced (as of this time of writing) that they will be releasing more downloadable contents for Red Dead Redemption. These new DLCs include: Legends and Killers Pack, Liars and Cheats Pack, Free Roam Pack, and even an Undead Nightmare Pack. The various multiplayer modes and downloadable packs add a lot of things to the ever so massive game.
Overall, Red Dead Redemption is a must buy not only for its great single player, but also for its massive multiplayer modes. If you want to explore the wild west without leaving your couch, then this game is most definitely for you.
