Garmin is adding to its range of fitness-focused smartwatches with the launch of its new luxury Marq line, priced from roughly A$2,000.
The line includes five new smartwatches, each aimed for a particular field: Marq Driver, Marq Aviator, Marq Captain, Marq Expedition, and Marq Athlete.
Each of the Marq smartwatches has their own unique features but they all include titanium cases, sapphire crystal, GPS, and typical smartwatch features including notifications, heart rate sensors, activity tracking, music storage, and Garmin Pay support.
The range also boasts a battery life that ranges from 12 days in smartwatch mode to 28 hours in GPS Mode and up to 48 hours in UltraTrac mode.
The Driver is geared for drivers, features track timers, including lap performance data, lap splits and 250 pre-loaded race tracks.
Next, the Captain is directed towards sailors, with tide and weather information and features a nautical design.
There’s the Aviator watch, for pilots, which features three time zones, has pre-loaded maps and airport details, Nexrad Weather Rader — Garmin’s cockpit integration.
The Athlete is designed for athletes and includes tracking for recovery time in addition to standard tracking.
Finally, the Expedition is built for adventurers and explorers with its 360-degree compass as well as an in-built barometer.
Local pricing and availability are yet to be confirmed but they will come in between roughly AU$2,120 and AU$3,540 across the range.
According to the Garmin website, estimated availability is 5 – 8 weeks from March 13.
