Garmin has unveiled its GPSMAP 276Cx all-terrain GPS navigator, an “upgraded reinvention” of its 276C, launched in 2004.The 276Cx, sporting a 5″ sunlight-readible display and push-button controls, has an IPX73 water rating, is decked out with both GPS and GLONASS, HotFix for faster satellite acquisition, features a barometric altimeter and 3-axis compass, and comes with wireless connectivity features.
It comes preloaded with a worldwide basemap with shaded relief, along with a subscription to BirdsEye Satellite Imagery, providing real-life terrain views, and is also compatible with a variety of optional maps, including Garmin Topo maps, BlueChart g2 HD marine charts, Custom Maps, raster maps and City Navigator.
Employing Wi-Fi, or when paired via Bluetooth to the Garmin Connect mobile app on a supported device, the 276Cx provides active weather forecasts, along with animated weather tracking, with other app connected features including automatic uploads, smart notifications and LiveTrack, with the 276Cx also supporting ANT+.

It features li-ion and AA battery support, coming with a rechargeable li-ion battery pack, providing up to 16 hours of battery life with the rechargeable battery and up to 8 hours with AA batteries.
Garmin states that there are several powered mount options, with a powered amps compatible mount included.
The 276Cx is equipped with 8 GB internal memory, which can be expanded via a microSD card.
“Back by popular demand, and updated to fit the 2016 user, the GPSMAP 276Cx can handle anything users want to put it through, no matter if they are out on the water, hitting the trails or cruising through city streets,” Garmin Australasia general manager Adam Howarth commented.
The 276Cx will be priced at $1,099 RRP.
