Gerry Harvey the Chairman of Harvey Norman has defended one of his managers who moved from Sydney to Melbourne to take on a key role in the running of the Clive Peeters stores. In a call to ChannelNews today Gerry Harvey said that there is “no truth” in the claim that Rick Seymour who moved from Sydney to Melbourne to become Business Manager of the IT Division at Clive Peeters was unhappy with Harvey Norman after they axed seven Clive Peeters stores.
“Rick has come to me and there is no truth in this claim. He is happy at Harvey Norman. He is very upset over the claims”.
Rick Hart’s self titled stores in WA were closed down earlier in the week by Harvey Norman following poor sales results.
Yesterday when Rick Hart complained about Harvey Norman management claiming that Gerry Harvey should look at himself for the failure of the retail chain instead of labeling its purchase a “mistake”, we indicated that Seymour was also unhappy.
“This is not the case and has never been the case said Gerry Harvey.
Seymour, the former National Product & Marketing Manager of Computers at Harvey Norman, has not contacted ChannelNews himself.
