SYDNEY – Australian and NZ organisations using cloud-based productivity software prefer Google Apps to Microsoft Office 365 by a factor of two to one, according to a survey sponsored by Cloud Sherpas, a cloud services provider – and Google partner.
The survey sought to identify major trends and priorities for IT departments in the region, according to Cloud Sherpas. It drew responses from 233 executives, with most indicating strong support for cloud computing, the company said.
Some 75 percent said they are considering, or are in the process of moving, their storage systems to the cloud.
But mobility was seen as a more immediate imperative, favoured by 70 percent of respondents, compared with 56 percent who saw cloud computing as a No. 1 priority.
