Google Assistant has rolled out a number of new features including phone finding for iPhones and more support for automation routines.
Customers with a Nest smart display or smart speaker will be able to use the command “Hey Google, find my phone” to trigger a notification and custom ringing sound on the handset. Both Android and iPhone devices will have the functionality made available, though iPhone users will need to opt in to receiving notifications and alerts from the Google Home app.
Google Assistant is also rolling out universal sunrise and sunset routines, which can trigger at specific times based on location; for example, turning on living room lights and starting sprinklers at sunset. Additionally, Google has added more “suggested actions” to ready-made routines, and customers can now create home screen shortcuts to their favourite routines.
Other new features include Duplex web support to make it quicker and easier to order food for delivery online, as well as Oscars-focused commands.
