Songza has been Googled.Songza is a free streaming music service that creates quirky playlists such as ‘2014’s Songs of the Summer’ and ‘Songs That Hit F**ked Up in the Gut’ or ‘Five Playlists to Celebrate the Summer Solstice’, a Songza Daily song and blog by the editors.
“Today, we’re thrilled to announce that we’re becoming part of Google. We can’t think of a better company to join in our quest to provide the perfect soundtrack for everything you do,” Songza wrote on its website.
“No immediate changes to Songza are planned, other than making it faster, smarter, and even more fun to use.”
No word on how much Google paid for the fun music streaming service, although US reports are suggesting in the region of over $15 million.
The curated service is likely to be integrated into Google Play in some way, to make it more interactive and dynamic.
Songza has two million users and is a rival to Beats Music streaming service, which incidentally, Apple recently acquired along with its hardware division.
