Google has added a new feature to its Google Play Music streaming service that creates a personalised mix of new music.
‘New Release Radio’ is updated each day with singles and albums released in the past two weeks, and takes advantage of machine learning to select songs based on the user’s listening history.
“Starting this week, our latest feature—New Release Radio—will serve you new releases based on your personal tastes, so you can stay up to date with the freshest tunes,” said Google Play Music tech lead manager Dharti Dhami.
The feature isn’t technically new, as Samsung Galaxy S8 owners already had access to it last month. Google explained this was through an ‘early access program’ as part of its global partnership with Samsung.
“The response has been great, and now we can’t wait for you to try it!” Dhami said.
New Release Radio is available now to both Google Play Music subscribers and free radio listeners.
