Cnet has been branded as a site that distributes malware.
Google is blocking access to technology website Cnet with visitors told that the site is infected with malware.
Users attempting to access the site are given a message automatically generated by Google that warns visitors the site’s security may have been compromised.
The message says “Google has found malicious software may be installed onto your computer if you proceed. If you’ve visited this site in the past or you trust this site, it’s possible that it has just recently been compromised by a hacker. You should not proceed, and perhaps try again tomorrow or go somewhere else.”
The compromise seems to have affected more than just Cnet, with the company’s sister site ZDNet generating the same message.
