Giving users the ability to plan their listening preferences for the coming seven days, the Grundig Replay sports a robust design, with easy to use functionality and advanced digital features.

The cleverly designed EPG (Program Guide) allows users to view the individual radio program schedule and receive detailed hourly information about what is being broadcast by commercial radio stations.

Users can easily record DAB+ programs either via the instant record function or via the timed recording feature, which allows scheduling of up to three different programs to record at the same or different times. Programs can also be recorded daily, once a week, each weekday or just on weekends.

Brian Rodgers, Sales Director at Bush Australia, expects the product to be a big hit with the public.

He said: “This amazing new radio provides customers with more freedom to choose what they want to listen and when. It is a very exciting product and we think that it will be an amazing performer in 2011.”

EPG services are catching on in popularity, with several major stations now considering the benefits of providing progamming information to users. However, many commercial broadcasters are still discussing the technical issues surrounding the broadcasting of EPGs.

Chief executive officer of Commercial Radio Australia, Joan Warner said: “We have looked at the merits of EPGs now that permanent DAB+ broadcasts are on air and commercial broadcasters are now considering a range of technical issues associated with broadcasting an EPG, including the number of DAB+ receivers in the market that can display an EPG. Products like the Grundig Replay radio will expedite these discussions and considerations.”

Currently all ABC stations broadcast an EPG service for listeners to view program information and other stations are expected to follow soon and assist with developing the technology further.

The Grundig Replay also enables recording music to an SD Card to share or listen to later.

Priced at RRP $229 it also includes DAB+/FM Radio with 20 Station Preset (10 DAB+/10FM), 128 X 64 Dot Matrix LCD Display with Icons Scrolling Text Information, Alarm Clock Functionality, DAB+ Station Auto Tune, 3.5mm Headphone Jack, Auxiliary Input, Speaker Power 7w, Telescopic Aerial and Remote Control.
